A Type 1 diabetic who has dreams of empowering, teaching, and changing the diabetic landscape. Zach is a college senior and desires the opportunity to raise money for diabetic research and education in partnership with the University of Michigan. Inspired to invoke change and help aid a new generation of diabetic research and education.

Jennifer is the proud mom of Zach and Carter. Since Zach's diagnosis in March of 2022 she has been committed to learning more about T1D and to supporting him as he navigates this new challenge. She is honored to be a part of this team working to improve awareness, provide support, and advance research.

Carter, college sophomore, draws strength from his peers as he navigates significant and minor challenges every day. He is committed to supporting his loved ones in their struggle with diabetes, employing every available method to alleviate their hardships.

Dale A. Jurcisin University of Michigan BA 1971, Wayne State University Law School 1974, married to Bonnie, sons Drew/Jennifer, Michael/Kate, and Marc. Mr. Jurcisin's career has included practice as an Assistant City Attorney, Prosecutor, Chief of Staff of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Assistant County Executive and Counsel to the firm of Karoub Associates in Lansing. He served for 8 years on the Livonia City Council.

Matt is currently a senior at the University of Michigan who is driven to positively impact individuals, especially in the diabetes community. He is thrilled to be a part of this opportunity to use educational and medical resources to aid and empower those battling diabetes. Hoping to create a strong community that increases awareness and advocates for advancement in research.

Mike Shanlikian is a vice president at Lear Corporation with financial responsibilities in the Seating Division. Shanlikian earned his bachelor’s degree from the Mike Ilitch School of Business and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Michigan State University's Eli Broad College of Business. Mike is the proud father of Emily and Joey. Mike is a Type One Diabetic himself, and his daughter Emily has Type One Diabetes as well.

Sue is the wife of Mike Shanlikian. She attended Miami University where she obtained her BA in economics and poly science. She now takes care of her two children Emily and Joey. Sue is very involved in the diabetic community and is excited to have this platform to inspire and instill hope to those who have diabetes.

Dedicated to helping others and giving back. Connor is proud to be associated with an organization that is committed to bringing diabetes to the public’s attention and uniting individuals, families, and communities affected by diabetes. He is continuously inspired by the bravery and strength of those impacted by diabetes.

Kyria and her husband Mark are proud parents of Christian and Gabe who grew up playing baseball with the Jurcisin family.  Kyria attended Albion College and was a senior project manager for several large health care organizations prior to her retirement.  In 2018 Kyria was diagnosed with latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA, a form of Type 1) and is now focused on improving the lives of others dealing with T1D, especially children and their families.

A college student who is empowered by his peers fighting through large and small battles each day. Gabe is dedicated to helping his family and friends through the hardships of diabetes through all means possible.

Adam is currently an associate athletic director with Michigan Athletics. He has over 15 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, with specialties in fundraising and ticket sales. Prior to that, he served for ten years as a Naval Flight Officer.

Matt is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Oakland University. He is the leader of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Plymouth, Canton, and Salem High Schools. Matt is also a high school football and baseball coach with Northville. He is an executive board member at St. Michael Lutheran. Matt is married to Carol and father to Bill.
